The ES-500-SAT is a bookshelf version of our popular 500 series speaker. The 500-series is our most versatile, with nearly a dozen different models timbre-matched for seamless system design. This versatility, combined with performance levels that exceed anything in its class, the ES-500 series is the perfect answer for a variety of installation needs.
Why are They so Heavy?
The first thing you'll notice when you pick up an ES-500-SAT is that they're heavier than you'd expect. So, why does a speaker that is only 8 inches tall weigh nearly 5½ lbs? The answer is simple: there's no shortcut to creating a rock-solid cabinet; it takes heavy materials like ½ MDF. And a rock-solid cabinet doesn't resonate and create unwanted distortion. So while the weight may be the first thing you notice about this speaker, it's the clear, dynamic sound that you'll remember.
Surprising Bass Response
Like all speakers in the ES-500 series, the ES-500-SAT utilizes an injection molded polypropylene woofer for quick, accurate bass. Low frequency response is further enhanced with a precision tuned tapered port. The net result of this work: Bass that has no right coming from such a small package.
Furniture-Quality Finish
A multi-layer painting and clear coat finish provide the ES-500-SAT with a rich, glass-like finish. Available in black or white, and combined with the modern aesthetics of the cabinet design, these attractive speakers compliment any décor.
Mounting Brackets Included
Simply replace any of the 4 screws adjacent to the gold plated 5-way binding posts with theincluded mount for a low-profile solution for nearly any installation. When mounted, these speakers sit ¾" off the wall, eliminating any interference with the tuned bass port. Also available is the optional ES-BRKT-BALL (black or white) swivel bracket. Or use any bracket requiring a 10-32 insert.

The goal of engineering is to produce a product that is greater than the sum of its parts. Outstanding driver voicing and a specifically engineered 2nd order cross-over network ensure precise, responsive performance and separate the ES-500 from mass-produced alternatives.

Frequency response
The frequency response curve shows the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) at a 1 meter (3.28 feet) distance from the speaker at all frequencies (Freq) in the audible range 20 HZ - 20,000 Hz (20K). It is an indication of how evenly the speaker reproduces the sound from the lowest bass to the highest treble.
